“MIXED UP”

An exhibition with works by Stephan Geisler (D), Johannes Schramm (D) and Dave White (UK).

During the month of June we present a colourful and ’mixed up’ exhibition with three of our talented international artist.

Stephan Geislers large-scale expressive art works pays tribute to the human body and mind as well as nature in general. With his carefree attitude, ecstatic colours and sensitive vibes he seems to succeed in turning the everyday experience in to the highlights of life. With odd perspectives and a passionate play with different materials you never get tired of, or sad by looking at his paintings.

In contrast to Geislers warm and cheerful art works, a cool and slightly minimalistic atmosphere characterizes the works of Johannes Schramms. His life as a former elite swimmer is very much reflected in his original paintings, as he never seems to paint anything that isn’t in some way linked to water. Inevitably the different shades of blue are off course mandatory and what are most fascinating are his endless ideas on how to paint a swimming pool or an ocean. His paintings tell what only his eyes see; the beautiful patterns, the mysterious reflections and even the hypnotizing sound of water against the edge.

From the semi-abstract and meditative world of Schramm and Geisler, Dave White is primarily occupied with well-known icons from American popular culture. His delicate brush strokes combined with thick layers of paint create a fascinating originality around ‘boyish’ objects like guns, women, cars and cartoons. Still, because of Whites subtle, detailed and sometimes even glamorous expression a somehow feminine atmosphere surrounds several of his works.
